Tips:

  • Soften the cream cheese: Bring the cream cheese to room temperature before using it to ensure a smooth and creamy filling. You can soften the cream cheese in the microwave for a few seconds or let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes.
  • Use fresh broccoli: Fresh broccoli florets will give the casserole a vibrant green color and a crisp texture. If you're using frozen broccoli, be sure to thaw it and drain it thoroughly before using it.
  • Shred the cheese: Shredding your own cheese will give the casserole a better flavor and texture than using pre-shredded cheese. Shred the cheese just before using it to prevent it from drying out.
  • Don't overcook the casserole: The casserole is done when the cheese is melted and bubbly and the broccoli is tender but still slightly crunchy. Overcooking the casserole will make the broccoli mushy and the cheese tough.
  • Serve immediately: The casserole is best served immediately after it's baked. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or in the freezer for up to 3 months.

Conclusion:

Broccoli cheese squares are a delicious and easy-to-make casserole that's perfect for any occasion. The combination of broccoli, cheese, and creamy sauce is sure to please everyone at the table. With a few simple tips, you can make sure your broccoli cheese casserole turns out perfectly every time. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy meal, give this broccoli cheese casserole a try. You won't be disappointed!
