Steps:
- 1. cook broccoli according to package directions, and drain.
- 2. add cheese, cooked rice and soup.
- 3. add finely chopped onion and celery if you want them.
- 4. Mix well and pour into a casserole dish.
- 5. bake at 375 until bubbling on top.
Tips:
- Choose the right broccoli. Look for broccoli with tightly closed florets and a deep green color. Avoid broccoli with yellow or wilted florets.
- Cook the broccoli properly. Broccoli should be cooked until it is tender but still has a slight crunch. Overcooked broccoli will be mushy and lose its nutrients.
- Use a good quality cheese. Velveeta is a processed cheese product that is often used in casseroles. However, you can use any type of cheese that you like. Cheddar cheese, mozzarella cheese, and Parmesan cheese are all good options.
- Add some flavorings. Salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder are all common flavorings used in broccoli and Velveeta casserole. You can also add other herbs and spices to taste.
- Bake it until it's bubbly. The casserole should be baked until it is bubbly and the cheese is melted and gooey. This usually takes about 30 minutes.
Conclusion:
Broccoli and Velveeta casserole is a classic comfort food that is easy to make and always a hit with the family. It's a great way to use up leftover broccoli, and it's also a good way to get your kids to eat their vegetables. With a few simple tips, you can make a broccoli and Velveeta casserole that is both delicious and nutritious.
