3 1/2 tablespoons olive oil
2 garlic cloves, minced

3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
1 tablespoon butter
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
1 pinch garlic salt
¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until al dente; drain.
  • Steam broccoli with 2 tablespoons water in microwave for 6-7 minutes.

1 large head fresh broccoli (about 2 cups)
1 red bell pepper
1 1/2 tablespoons capers (small are the best)
7 1/2 ounces medium pitted black olives
1/2 red onion
1/2-3/4 cup olive oil
1/4 cup cider vinegar or 1/4 cup lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon dried marjoram
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon sugar
salt and pepper

Steps:

  • Trim broccoli and separate the florets into bite-size pieces.
  • Peel the stem and cut it into quarter inch discs.
  • Blanch the broccoli by dropping it into a large pot of boiling water for approximately 1 1/2 to 2 minutes, then dropping it into a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process.
  • Drain and dry broccoli.
  • Roughly dice the red bell pepper and finely dice the onion.
  • In large bowl, combine the broccoli, bell pepper, onion, capers and olives.

1 tablespoon olive oil
Coarse salt and ground pepper
4 portobello mushrooms (stems removed), sliced 1/2 inch thick
2 red bell peppers (ribs and seeds removed), sliced 1/2 inch thick
1/4 cup light mayonnaise
1 small garlic clove, crushed through a press
4 thick slices country bread
4 ounces Gouda cheese, thinly sliced

Steps:

  • Heat broiler, with rack set 4 inches from heat. On a rimmed baking sheet lined with aluminum foil, toss broccoli with oil; season with salt and pepper. Broil, tossing once or twice, until broccoli begins to char, 4 to 6 minutes.

1 serrano chile, minced
2 1/2 tablespoons seasoned rice vinegar
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

1 tablespoon dark sesame oil
3 tablespoons grapeseed or sunflower oil
