Tips:

  • Prep the Broccoli Right: Cut the broccoli florets into bite-sized pieces to ensure even cooking. If using frozen broccoli, thaw it completely before adding it to the casserole.
  • Use Fresh Ingredients: Fresh broccoli, Parmesan cheese, and garlic will give you the best flavor. If possible, use freshly grated Parmesan cheese instead of pre-packaged shredded cheese.
  • Don't Overcook the Broccoli: Broccoli should be tender but still have a slight crunch. Overcooked broccoli will become mushy and lose its vibrant color.
  • Layer the Casserole Properly: Start with a layer of broccoli, then a layer of Parmesan cheese sauce, and repeat. This will help the flavors meld together and create a creamy, cheesy casserole.
  • Use a Variety of Cheeses: Feel free to experiment with different types of cheeses in the Parmesan cheese sauce. Gruyere, cheddar, and fontina are all great options.
  • Season to Taste: Don't forget to season the casserole with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. You can also add a pinch of red pepper flakes for a little heat.
