WORLD'S EASIEST BREAD MACHINE PIZZA DOUGH
Borrowed from a handful of other pizza dough recipes and tweaked to yield a tasty, thick crust using a bread machine. If you use a pizza stone, sprinkle it with cornmeal before placing the pizza on it to help keep it from sticking. Feel free to try different spices if you don't like any of the ones in this recipe.

BREAD MACHINE BASIC PIZZA DOUGH
First made in August, 2003. Absolutely the best pizza dough I've ever made. I made calzones for the first time with this. I like to add sugar to the dough or maybe garlic or some other spice for added flavor. Even cheese is great!

Steps:
- Add ingredients in the order reccommended for your bread machine and set to dough cycle.
- After it's finished, transfer dough to lightly oiled pan.
- For a thick crust, cover and allow to rise for about 20 minutes; for thin, bake right away.
- Heap with toppings of your choice and bake in 450F oven for about 20 minutes (I sometimes put the crust in for about 5 minutes before adding toppings to speed it up a little bit and to prevent a soggy crust).
- Enjoy!
Tips:
- Use warm water (about 110°F) to activate the yeast. Lukewarm water helps the yeast to proof and become active, resulting in a dough that rises properly.
- Measure your ingredients accurately. Using the correct proportions of ingredients is essential for a successful pizza dough. A kitchen scale is the most accurate way to measure ingredients, but you can also use measuring cups if you don't have one.
- Knead the dough until it is smooth and elastic. Kneading the dough helps to develop the gluten, which gives the dough its structure and chewiness. Knead the dough for at least 5 minutes, or until it is smooth and elastic.
- Let the dough rise in a warm place until it has doubled in size. This will typically take about 1-2 hours. You can tell that the dough has risen enough when it is light and airy and has doubled in size.
- Use a pizza stone or baking sheet to bake the pizza. A pizza stone will help to create a crispy crust, while a baking sheet will give you a softer crust. If you are using a pizza stone, preheat it in the oven for at least 30 minutes before baking the pizza.
- Bake the pizza at a high temperature (450°F or higher) for a short amount of time (10-15 minutes). This will help to create a crispy crust and prevent the pizza from becoming soggy.
Conclusion:
Making pizza dough in a bread machine is a quick and easy way to enjoy delicious homemade pizza. By following these tips, you can make a pizza dough that is perfect for your next pizza night.
