6 cups cold water
4 limes, washed and quartered
1/2 to 3/4 cup sweetened condensed milk

Steps:

  • Combine the water and limes in a blender, in batches if necessary, and blend until totally smooth, about 2 minutes. Strain the lime mixture through a sieve and press on the solids until only the pulp remains.
  • Pour the liquid into a pitcher and add the sweetened condensed milk to taste. Cover and refrigerate until cold. Serve in glasses over ice.

1 lime, sliced for garnish
4 limes, cut into quarters
1/3 cup sugar (more or less, depending on desired sweetness)
3 tablespoons sweetened condensed milk

Steps:

  • Slice 1 lime thinly to use as garnish on glass rims.
  • Put any remaining, unused lime pieces, along with all other ingredients, into a blender.
  • Add 4 cups water and blend, using the pulse function, until the limes are chopped, but not pureed. Be careful not to overblend as the pith from the lime rind will cause bitterness.
