Mary, a resident at work, had me make this for her last night. she has it on crackers. The dip would hold up to being molded so would make a great anytime dip. Enclosed are a few ideas for creations that she has done or we thought of together

8 oz braunschweiger sausage (liver sausage)
8 oz cream cheese
2 Tbsp horseradish sauce from a jar (we used semi heaping spoons)

Steps:

  • 1. Allow both the liver sausage and cream cheese to soften at room temp. In a high bowl (it is messy) add all ingredients and beat until mixed well. Serve with crackers.
  • 2. Creations: *************** Pumpkin With hands pat into a pumpkin and roll in orange sugar crystals to make a pumpkin. add a chunk of green onion as a stock and add cut veggies for eyes and mounth. or do the same without the orange sugar. ************************ Worms roll into a thick roll about 6 inches long and decorate as a worm or millipeed. *************************** appetizer balls roll into small balls and roll in pramesan cheese and serve with a tooth pick. ************************* Spooky eyes do the above ball and add a green olive slice as an eyeball.

I love Braunschweiger. I will eat it on bread with mayo only. I guess thats my Wisconsin roots in me. These appetizers are one of my favorites. I haven't made these in a long while. I think I will make this for the New Year as it goes well with drinks and football.

16 oz braunschweiger
8 oz cream cheese
3 green onions (chopped)
1 Tbsp milk (optional)
1 Tbsp worcestershire sauce
1 tsp garlic powder

Steps:

  • 1. Mix braunschweiger, cream cheese, milk, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic together in mixer or food processor until well blended. Fold in onions.
  • 2. Form mixture into a ball, roll in nuts if desired or serve with crackers of choice and / or little round bread pieces or little toasts.
  • 3. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 2 plus hours. Better if over night.
