Time 5m

Yield 1 cocktail

Number Of Ingredients 5

1/2 cup fresh-squeezed orange juice
2 ounces bourbon
1/4 cup carrot juice
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1 orange slice, halved

Steps:

  • Put the orange juice, bourbon, carrot juice and sugar in a cocktail shaker. Fill with ice and shake for 10 seconds. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass and garnish with the orange slice.

Tips:

  • Use fresh lemon juice: Fresh lemon juice adds a bright, citrusy flavor to the drink. Avoid using bottled lemon juice, as it can be bitter and lack flavor.
  • Choose a good quality bourbon: The bourbon is the star of this drink, so it's important to choose a good one. Look for a bourbon that is at least 80 proof and has a smooth, mellow flavor.
  • Use simple syrup: Simple syrup is a combination of sugar and water that is used to sweeten the drink. You can make your own simple syrup by dissolving 1 cup of sugar in 1 cup of boiling water.
  • Chill your glass: Chilling your glass before making the drink will help to keep it cold and refreshing.
  • Garnish with a lemon twist: A lemon twist adds a touch of elegance and citrus flavor to the drink.

Conclusion:

The Bourbon Sour is a classic cocktail that is perfect for any occasion. It's easy to make and can be customized to your own taste preferences. Whether you like your drinks sweet, tart, or somewhere in between, the Bourbon Sour is a great choice.
