Tips:

  • Use dried lentils: Dried lentils are more flavorful and have a better texture than canned lentils.
  • Soak the lentils overnight: Soaking the lentils overnight helps to reduce the cooking time and makes them more digestible.
  • Use a variety of vegetables: This recipe calls for carrots, celery, and onions, but you can use any vegetables that you like. Some other good options include potatoes, turnips, and parsnips.
  • Don't overcook the lentils: Lentils are done cooking when they are tender but still hold their shape. Overcooked lentils will be mushy.
  • Season the lentils to taste: Add salt, pepper, and other seasonings to taste. You can also add a splash of vinegar or lemon juice for a bit of brightness.

Conclusion:

Boston baked lentils is a delicious and hearty dish that is perfect for a weeknight meal. It is also a great way to use up leftover lentils.
