Tips:

  • Use Fresh, High-Quality Ingredients: The quality of your ingredients will greatly impact the taste of your cevapcici. Choose fresh, lean ground beef, lamb, and pork. If possible, grind your own meat using a meat grinder to ensure the best texture.
  • Season Generously: Cevapcici is traditionally seasoned with a blend of paprika, garlic, onion, salt, and pepper. Don't be afraid to be generous with the seasonings, as they add a lot of flavor to the meat. You can also add other spices, such as cumin, oregano, and chili powder, to taste.
  • Mix the Meat Thoroughly: Be sure to mix the meat mixture thoroughly, until it is well combined and there are no streaks of unseasoned meat. This will help ensure that the cevapcici are evenly flavored and cooked.
  • Chill the Meat Mixture: After mixing the meat mixture, chill it for at least 30 minutes, or up to overnight. This will help the flavors to meld and make the meat easier to work with.
  • Form the Cevapcici: To form the cevapcici, take a small handful of meat mixture and roll it into a long, thin sausage shape. Be sure to roll the cevapcici tightly so that they hold together when cooked.
  • Cook the Cevapcici Thoroughly: Cevapcici can be cooked on a grill, in a pan, or in the oven. Be sure to cook them until they are browned on all sides and cooked through. The internal temperature of the cevapcici should reach 165°F (74°C).

Conclusion:

Bosnian Three-Meat Patties (Cevapcici) are a delicious and versatile dish that can be enjoyed for lunch, dinner, or as a snack. They are easy to make and can be cooked in a variety of ways.
