Time 25m

Yield 2 cups, 6 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 10

2 ounces cream cheese
1 tablespoon mayonnaise
1/4 cup sour cream
1 tablespoon butter, softened
1/4 teaspoon seasoning salt
1/8 teaspoon paprika
4 teaspoons onions, minced
4 teaspoons green peppers, minced
1/4 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
1 (6 ounce) can crabmeat

Steps:

  • Mix cream cheese, mayo, sour cream, and butter until smooth.
  • Blend in salt and paprika.
  • Stir in onion, green pepper, cheese, and crab meat.
  • Bake at 350F for 10-15 minutes, until bubbly.

Tips:

  • Use fresh blue crab meat for the best flavor. If you can't find fresh crab meat, you can use frozen or canned crab meat, but the flavor will not be as good.
  • Be sure to cook the crab meat thoroughly to prevent foodborne illness. Crab meat should be cooked to an internal temperature of 145 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Don't overcook the crab meat, or it will become tough and chewy.
  • Use a good quality cream cheese. A cheap cream cheese will not taste as good and will not hold its shape as well.
  • Use a sharp cheddar cheese. A mild cheddar cheese will not have as much flavor.
  • Don't be afraid to experiment with different ingredients. You can add chopped green onions, red peppers, or jalapenos to the dip for a little extra flavor.
  • Serve the dip with crackers, chips, or vegetables.

Conclusion:

This blue crab dip is a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer that is perfect for any occasion. It is sure to be a hit at your next party or gathering. So next time you are looking for a tasty and satisfying dip, give this blue crab dip a try.
