CHEWY GOOEY BLONDE BROWNIES

Chewy Gooey Blonde Brownies image

This has always been my favorite cookie. You can add in chocolate chips and/or nuts, but I love the plain, unadulterated maple-like flavor. To halve the recipe, use an 8x8" pan and check five minutes sooner.

Number Of Ingredients 8

2 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
2/3 cup oil
2 cups brown sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla

Steps:

  • Mix together first four ingredients in a small bowl and set aside.
  • Mix together the oil, sugar, eggs, and vanilla, then stir in the dry ingredients.
  • Bake in a greased, 9x13-inch pan, for 25-30 minutes at 350°F or until a toothpick comes out clean from the center.

Tips:

  • Use melted butter: This will help the brownies stay moist and chewy.
  • Don't overmix the batter: Overmixing will make the brownies tough.
  • Bake the brownies until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with just a few moist crumbs attached: Overbaking will make the brownies dry.
  • Let the brownies cool completely before cutting them: This will help prevent them from crumbling.
  • Store the brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or in the refrigerator for up to 1 week: Brownies can also be frozen for up to 2 months.
