BLACK WALNUT OATMEAL COOKIES
I got this recipe from my daughter, Amy Herald, another one of the great cooks here on JAP. I modified it slightly by the addition of black walnut flavoring and black walnuts and omitting the raisins because I didn't have any. The result was an outstanding soft cookie that's not too sweet and perfect for the cooler Fall days...

Tips:
- Measure your ingredients precisely: Baking is a science, and precise measurements are essential for successful results. Use a kitchen scale to measure ingredients by weight, as this is more accurate than measuring by volume.
- Use fresh, high-quality ingredients: The better the ingredients you use, the better your cookies will taste. Look for fresh, ripe walnuts and high-quality butter, sugar, and flour.
- Chill the dough before baking: Chilling the dough helps to firm it up, making it easier to handle and preventing the cookies from spreading too much in the oven.
- Bake the cookies until they are just set: Overbaking will dry out the cookies. Bake them until the edges are just set and the centers are still slightly soft.
- Let the cookies cool completely before frosting them: This will help to prevent the frosting from melting.
Conclusion:
Black walnut cream cookies are a delicious and easy-to-make treat that is perfect for any occasion. With their rich, nutty flavor and creamy frosting, these cookies are sure to be a hit with everyone who tries them. So next time you're looking for a special cookie to bake, give black walnut cream cookies a try. You won't be disappointed!
