BLACK WALNUT BANANA NUT BREAD

This is my favorite recipe for Banana Nut Bread. When it cools it has a pretty marbled center. I dust it with powdered sugar after it cools.

BLUEBERRY BLACK WALNUT BREAD (CAKE)

Blueberry Black Walnut Bread (Cake) image

This recipe began as a scout project back in the 1970's as a cranberry nut bread, but I prefer blue berries. Black walnuts have a distinct strong flavor, so don't use any more than recipe calls for.

Tips:

  • Choose the right walnuts. Use fresh, plump walnuts for the best flavor. If you can, buy walnuts in the shell and crack them yourself. This will ensure that you get the freshest walnuts possible.
  • Toast the walnuts. Toasting the walnuts will bring out their flavor and make them more fragrant. You can toast the walnuts in a preheated oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 5-7 minutes, or in a skillet over medium heat for 3-4 minutes.
  • Use a good quality bread flour. Bread flour has a higher protein content than all-purpose flour, which will give your bread a better rise and a more chewy texture.
  • Don't overmix the batter. Overmixing the batter will make the bread tough. Mix the batter just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Let the bread rise in a warm place. This will help the bread to rise properly and develop a light and fluffy texture.
  • Bake the bread until it is golden brown. The bread is done baking when a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Conclusion:

Black walnut bread is a delicious and easy-to-make bread that is perfect for any occasion. With its rich, nutty flavor and moist, tender texture, black walnut bread is sure to be a hit with everyone who tries it. So next time you're looking for a special bread to bake, give black walnut bread a try. You won't be disappointed!
