1 c sugar
1 large egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
3-4 mashed ripe bananas
1-1/2 c flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 c cocoa powder

Steps:

  • 1. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar. Beat in egg and vanilla. Stir in the bananas. Combine the dry ingredients; add to the creamed mixture and mix well.

  • 3. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. Cool.

Tips:

  • Use ripe bananas: The riper the bananas, the sweeter and more flavorful your banana bars will be.
  • Cream the butter and sugar together thoroughly: This will help to create a light and fluffy texture in your banana bars.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition: This will help to prevent the batter from curdling.
  • Be careful not to overmix the batter: Overmixing can result in tough, dense banana bars.
  • Bake the banana bars until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean: This will ensure that the banana bars are cooked through.
  • Let the banana bars cool completely before frosting them: This will help to prevent the frosting from melting.
