Number Of Ingredients 4

1/4 cup butter, softened
3 cups Original Bisquick® mix
1/3 cup sugar
1 bottle or can (12 oz) light beer

Steps:

  • 1. Heat oven to 375°F. Grease bottom only of 9x5-inch loaf pan with 1 to 2 tablespoons of the butter. 2. In large bowl, stir together Bisquick mix, sugar and beer with whisk until well blended. Pour into pan. 3. Bake 45 to 55 minutes or until golden brown. 4. In small microwavable bowl, microwave remaining 2 to 3 tablespoons butter on High until melted; brush over warm loaf. Cool 15 minutes before slicing.

Tips:

  • To ensure a moist and fluffy loaf, use cold beer and buttermilk. Cold liquids react with the baking soda and baking powder more slowly, which results in a more even rise.
  • If you don't have buttermilk, you can make your own by adding 1 tablespoon of lemon juice or vinegar to 1 cup of milk. Let it sit for 5 minutes before using.
  • Be careful not to overmix the batter. Overmixing can result in a tough, dense loaf.
  • Bake the bread in a preheated oven. This will help the bread rise evenly and prevent it from sinking in the middle.
  • To check if the bread is done, insert a toothpick into the center. If it comes out clean, the bread is done. If it comes out with wet batter, bake the bread for a few more minutes.
  • Let the bread cool for at least 10 minutes before slicing and serving. This will help the bread hold its shape and prevent it from crumbling.

Bisquick beer bread is a quick, easy, and delicious bread that can be enjoyed by people of all ages.
