17 ounces white chocolate chips
1 tablespoon butter

  • Melt white chocolate chips with butter in top of a double boiler over simmering water, stirring frequently and scraping down the sides with a rubber spatula, until mixture is creamy, about 5 minutes.

Tips:

  • Use high-quality popcorn kernels: Fresh, non-GMO popcorn kernels will give you the best results. Avoid using old or stale kernels, as they will not pop as well.
  • Measure your ingredients accurately: This is especially important for the white chocolate mixture. If you don't measure your ingredients correctly, the chocolate may not set properly or may be too thick or too thin.
  • Use a large pot or Dutch oven: You need a large pot or Dutch oven to pop the popcorn. A small pot will not be able to hold all of the popcorn kernels and they will not pop evenly.
  • Shake the pot or Dutch oven constantly: This will help to ensure that the popcorn kernels pop evenly. If you don't shake the pot or Dutch oven, the kernels may burn.
  • Remove the popcorn from the heat as soon as it is done popping: If you leave the popcorn on the heat for too long, it will start to burn.
  • Let the popcorn cool completely before adding the white chocolate mixture: If you add the white chocolate mixture to the popcorn while it is still hot, the chocolate will melt and the popcorn will become soggy.
  • Use a spoon or spatula to mix the white chocolate mixture into the popcorn: Do not use your hands, as the heat from your hands will melt the chocolate and make it difficult to mix.
  • Spread the popcorn out on a baking sheet to cool: This will help to prevent the popcorn from clumping together.
  • Store the popcorn in an airtight container at room temperature: The popcorn will keep for up to 2 weeks.

Conclusion:

Birthday White Chocolate Popcorn is a delicious and festive treat that is perfect for any party. It is easy to make and can be customized to your liking. You can use different colors of sprinkles or candy melts to match your party theme. You can also add other ingredients to the popcorn, such as nuts, dried fruit, or marshmallows. Birthday White Chocolate Popcorn is a surefire hit with kids and adults alike.
