SIMPLE BBQ RIBS

Simple BBQ Ribs image

Country-style ribs are cut from the loin, one of the leanest areas of pork. These ribs are seasoned, boiled until tender, then baked with your favorite barbeque sauce. That's it! Back to simplicity, back to the country life. Sigh.

Tips:

  • Choose the right ribs: Select meaty spare ribs or baby back ribs. Look for ribs that are well-marbled with fat, as this will help keep them moist during cooking.
  • Prepare the ribs: Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs to help the rub penetrate the meat. You can also trim off any excess fat.
  • Make a flavorful rub: Combine spices, herbs, and brown sugar to create a rub that will enhance the flavor of the ribs. Some popular ingredients for a BBQ rub include paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, and cumin.
  • Smoke the ribs: Preheat your smoker to 225°F (107°C). Place the ribs on the smoker and cook for 2-3 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C).
  • Wrap the ribs: Once the ribs have reached an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C), wrap them in aluminum foil. This will help them to cook more evenly and prevent them from drying out.
  • Continue cooking: Return the wrapped ribs to the smoker and continue cooking for another 1-2 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 203°F (95°C).
  • Let the ribs rest: Remove the ribs from the smoker and let them rest for 10-15 minutes before serving. This will allow the juices to redistribute throughout the meat.

Conclusion:

Big Thunder BBQ ribs are a delicious and flavorful dish that is perfect for any occasion. By following these tips, you can easily make fall-off-the-bone ribs that will impress your friends and family. So fire up your smoker and get ready to enjoy some amazing BBQ ribs!
