2 medium cloves garlic (minced)
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon fine sea salt (plus more to taste)
1 dill pickle (diced small, about 1/2 cup)
1 cup freshly shredded sharp cheddar cheese (divided, plus more for topping)**
1 cup freshly shredded mozzarella cheese (divided)**
1 (32 ounce) bag tater tots (64 tots)
1/2 cup freshly shredded Monterey Jack cheese**
Shredded iceberg lettuce

Steps:

  • To a small bowl, add the ingredients for the Big Mac sauce and mix until combined. Measure out 1/2 cup of the sauce, and place into a small Ziploc bag (to be used as a garnish at the end).
  • Preheat the oven to 350 F (176 C).
  • Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add in the ground beef and cook half way (5 minutes). Add the diced onions and cook until the beef is fully browned (about 4 more minutes). Discard the excess grease from the pan.

Tips:

  • Use fresh, high-quality ingredients. This will make a big difference in the final flavor of your casserole.
  • Don't overcook the ground beef. Cook it until it is just browned through, or it will become tough.
  • Use a good quality cheese. A sharp cheddar or Monterey Jack cheese will give your casserole a rich, flavorful taste.
  • Don't skimp on the Big Mac sauce. This is what gives the casserole its signature flavor.
  • Serve the casserole hot and fresh. It's best when it's just out of the oven.

Conclusion:

Big Mac Casserole is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for a weeknight meal or a potluck. It's a great way to use up leftover ground beef, and it's sure to be a hit with the whole family. So next time you're looking for a hearty and satisfying meal, give Big Mac Casserole a try.
