Tips:

  • Use a sharp knife to thinly slice the cabbage. This will help the sauerkraut absorb the dressing more easily.
  • If you don't have a mandoline, you can use a food processor to shred the cabbage. Just be careful not to over-process it, or the sauerkraut will become too mushy.
  • Feel free to add other vegetables to the salad, such as shredded carrots, celery, or radishes.
  • If you like a sweeter salad, you can add a tablespoon or two of sugar to the dressing.
  • The salad can be served immediately, or you can let it chill in the refrigerator for a few hours before serving. This will allow the flavors to meld together.

Conclusion:

Betty's Sauerkraut Salad is a delicious and refreshing side dish that is perfect for any occasion. It is easy to make and can be tailored to your own taste preferences. So next time you are looking for a healthy and flavorful salad, give this recipe a try. You won't be disappointed!
