BEER MARGARITAS

Who would believe that beer would be the perfect solution to eradicating fluorescent green margaritas? Well, it is! Best to use not-so-micro brews to avoid an overpowering beer flavor. Use the limeade can to measure the ingredients, and adjust with extra water if the mixture seems too sweet. Straining the pulp is always a good idea, unless, of course, you like pulp!

BETTY'S BEER MARGARITA

Betty's Beer Margarita image

Betty was a friend of mine who was around my dads age and was like a mother to me. She used to tell me about this drink and what was in it but I never had them until now because I didn't have her exact recipe. Betty died of lung cancer last February, before I could get her recipe. I found the recipe on "The Food Network" web site and improvised it to suit my taste and named it after Betty. You can add more tequila if you want to. Warning: More than one might sneak up on you because you can't taste the tequila! :)

  • It helps keep the drink cold longer.

Tips:

  • Use fresh ingredients whenever possible: This will give your margaritas the best flavor.
  • Choose a good quality tequila: Reposado or añejo tequilas will give your margaritas a more complex flavor than blanco tequila.
  • Use freshly squeezed lime juice: This will give your margaritas a brighter, more tart flavor than bottled lime juice.
  • Sweeten your margaritas to taste: You can use simple syrup, agave nectar, or even honey.
  • Don't over-shake your margaritas: Over-shaking will make them watery.
  • Serve your margaritas immediately: Margaritas are best enjoyed fresh.
  • Garnish your margaritas with a lime wedge or a salt rim: This will add a finishing touch to your drinks.

Conclusion:

Betty's Beer Margarita is a delicious and refreshing cocktail that is perfect for any occasion. It is easy to make and can be customized to your own taste.
