Tips:
- Use day-old bread: It will absorb the egg mixture better and result in a more flavorful and moist bake.
- Don't overmix the batter: Overmixing can result in a tough and dense bake. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
- Use a variety of fillings: Don't be afraid to get creative with your fillings. Some popular options include cheese, ham, bacon, vegetables, and fruit.
- Bake the casserole until it is set in the center: This will ensure that the bake is cooked through without overcooking it.
- Let the casserole rest for a few minutes before serving: This will allow the casserole to set and make it easier to slice.
