Tips:
- Choose the right cut of meat: Cube steak is typically made from round steak, which is a tough cut of meat. However, it can be tenderized by pounding it with a meat mallet or using a mechanical tenderizer.
- Marinate the steak: Marinating the steak in a mixture of oil, vinegar, and spices will help to flavor and tenderize it. You can marinate the steak for as little as 30 minutes or up to overnight.
- Cook the steak over medium-high heat: This will help to sear the outside of the steak and prevent it from becoming tough.
- Cook the steak for no more than 5-7 minutes per side: Overcooking will make the steak tough.
- Let the steak rest before serving: This will allow the juices to redistribute throughout the steak, making it more tender and flavorful.
Conclusion:
Cube steak is a delicious and affordable cut of meat that can be easily cooked at home. By following these tips, you can make sure that your cube steak is tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection.
