BEST SAUSAGE DIP EVER

This was given by a friend in Texas years ago. Spicy but great!

Provided by Roberta Broussard @robann

Categories     Dips

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 pound(s) hot (spicy) ground sausage
1 - chopped onion
1 can(s) crushed tomatoes
8 ounce(s) container sour cream
8 ounce(s) cream cheese
3-5 - chopped or sliced fresh jalapenos

Steps:

  • Brown sausage and drain.
  • Add chopped onions, tomatoes and jalapenos to sausage, simmer about 30 minutes.
  • Add cream cheese and sour cream, simmer about 10 minutes.
  • By now you can forget how many calories are in this, so get wild! Add some more cream cheese and sour cream to taste! Serve with chips
  • Hint: You can make this as mild or spicy as you like. For mild just use mild sauage and only use 1 or 2 jalapenos or none at all. Also take out all the seeds. The seeds make it hotter! If you want it spicier add more jalapenos.

Tips:

  • Choose high-quality sausage: The quality of the sausage you use will directly impact the taste of the dip. Look for a sausage that is made with fresh, high-quality meat and spices.
  • Use a variety of cheeses: Different cheeses will give your dip a different flavor and texture. Try using a combination of cheddar, mozzarella, and cream cheese.
  • Don't overcook the sausage: Overcooked sausage will be dry and tough. Cook the sausage until it is just cooked through.
  • Use a slow cooker: A slow cooker is a great way to make sausage dip. Simply combine all of the ingredients in the slow cooker and cook on low for 4-6 hours.
  • Serve with your favorite dippers: Sausage dip is great with a variety of dippers, such as tortilla chips, crackers, and vegetables.

Conclusion:

Sausage dip is a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer that is perfect for any occasion. With just a few simple ingredients, you can create a dip that is sure to please everyone. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy snack, give sausage dip a try!
