Tips:
- Choose the right ham. You can use any type of ham for this casserole, but a bone-in ham will give it more flavor. If you're using a boneless ham, be sure to add some extra ham flavor by adding a ham bone or ham bouillon cubes to the casserole.
- Don't overcook the ham. The ham should be cooked until it is tender, but not dry. Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature of the ham; it should be 140 degrees Fahrenheit for medium-rare, 145 degrees Fahrenheit for medium, and 150 degrees Fahrenheit for well-done.
- Use a variety of vegetables. This casserole is a great way to use up leftover vegetables. You can add any type of vegetables you like, such as potatoes, carrots, celery, onions, and peas. Just be sure to chop the vegetables into small pieces so that they cook evenly.
- Don't be afraid to experiment. This recipe is a great starting point, but you can easily customize it to your own taste. For example, you can add different spices, herbs, or cheeses to the casserole. You can also substitute different types of pasta or rice for the egg noodles.
Conclusion:
Ham casserole is a classic comfort food that is perfect for a weeknight meal. It is easy to make and can be tailored to your own taste. With a few simple tips, you can make a delicious ham casserole that your family and friends will love.
