BEST EVER OATMEAL COOKIES--LAND O LAKES

Best Ever Oatmeal Cookies--Land O Lakes image

I got this recipe years ago in a supermarket checkout cookbook called Fast Scratch Vegetarian--I think it MIGHT be from Land O' Lakes but my copy is fairly shredded so I can't be sure. At any rate, we have been making these for years, and though the recipe title is theirs I have to say I agree! I hope you do, too!

Tips:

  • Use fresh, high-quality ingredients. This will make a big difference in the taste of your cookies.
  • Don't overmix the batter. Overmixing will make the cookies tough.
  • Chill the dough before baking. This will help the cookies hold their shape.
  • Bake the cookies at the right temperature. If the oven is too hot, the cookies will brown too quickly and be overcooked on the outside and undercooked on the inside. If the oven is too cool, the cookies will take too long to bake and be dry and crumbly.
  • Let the cookies cool completely before storing them. This will help them keep their shape and flavor.

Conclusion:

Oatmeal cookies are a classic comfort food that are easy to make and loved by people of all ages. By following these tips, you can make the best oatmeal cookies ever. So next time you're in the mood for a sweet treat, give this recipe a try. You won't be disappointed!
