Out Of This World Baked Spaghetti is a one-pan meal that's always a hit at the supper table or at a covered dish supper. With a creamy, cheesy center, and a meaty sauce, this pasta casserole is comfort food taken to a whole new level!

1 pound ground beef
1 small to medium onion - chopped
1 24 oz jar Marinara sauce - I use Rao's
1 cup cottage cheese
1 cup Parmesan cheese - grated
1 egg
1 pound spaghetti
1 8 oz cream cheese
2 cups Mozzarella cheese - grated

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350 degrees.
  • In a medium size skillet, cook ground beef and onion until done. Drain off fat. Pour Mariana sauce over meat and mix well.
  • In a large pot, cook spaghetti according to package directions. When done, drain. Add cream cheese and mix well, coating all spaghetti.
  • Mix together, in a medium size bowl, cottage cheese, 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese and egg.
  • To build baked spaghetti, place approximately 1/2 cup of meat sauce in the bottom of a 9x13 casserole dish. Place half of spaghetti on top of meat mixture smoothing to the edges of casserole dish. Layer on cottage cheese mixture, covering all of spaghetti. Layer remaining spaghetti over cheese. Spoon remaining meat mixture over all layers. Top with Mozzarella cheese. Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove foil, sprinkle on 1/2 cup of Parmesan cheese and bake for additional 15 minutes until cheese is golden brown. Remove from and allow to reset 10 minutes. Cut into squares and serve.

¼ cup fresh parsley
1 ½ cups mozzarella cheese (shredded)
⅓ cup fresh parmesan cheese (shredded )
1 pound ground beef (or italian sausage)
1 small onion (diced)
2 cloves garlic (minced)
1 ½ teaspoons Italian seasoning
½ teaspoon salt (or to taste)
1 green pepper (diced)
32 ounces pasta sauce
14.5 ounces diced tomatoes

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375°F.
  • Brown meat, onion, garlic, seasoning and green pepper over medium heat making sure to break up the meat very well. (Drain any fat if needed).
  • Add pasta sauce, Italian seasoning and tomatoes to meat. Simmer 5-10 minutes uncovered. Stir in spaghetti and parsley.
  • Spread into a 9x13 pan, top with cheeses and bake 25-30 minutes or until hot and cheese is browned and bubbly. Cut into squares to serve.

1 pound ground beef
1 onion, chopped
1 (32 ounce) jar meatless spaghetti sauce
½ teaspoon seasoned salt
2 eggs
⅓ cup grated Parmesan cheese

2 cups small curd cottage cheese, divided
4 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.

This recipe appeared last Sunday in our Hattiesburg American Newspaper. It intrigued me right away, and after putting my own twist on it. I served it last night to our Bible Study group and they all requested the recipe.

2 lbs. ground chuck (i used sirloin)
2 (24 oz) jars spaghetti sauce ** 2 (24 oz) jars pasta sauce * see note! see note below!
16 oz. spaghetti, undercooked by 2 min.,drained
4 t butter + 4 t olive oil
1/4 c flour
1/4 c grated parmesan
2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
3-4 cloves garlic , minced
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
some fresh grated nutmeg
12 oz. can evaporated milk
3 c shredded sharp cheddar cheese

Steps:

  • 1. In a large heated skillet over medium high brown then drain your meat. I seasoned the meat though not called for with the red pepper flakes, 1 tsp salt,and some black pepper.
  • 2. In a sauce pot over medium heat sauté the garlic in a little olive oil. Add the 2 jars of pasta sauce,( rinse the jars with a little water) 2 bay leaves,1 tsp basil, 1 tsp oregano, 2 tsp brown sugar and 1/4 tsp pepper flakes. Let it simmer on low while making the cheese sauce. NOTE: I doctored the sauce according to our taste, because the recipe just called for using the sauce right from the jar
  • 3. Cheese sauce! This is the best recipe I have come across and it would be wonderful over vegetables too.:-) Melt butter and oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Add flour, garlic powder, nutmeg and parmesan. Whisking combine this well and let it come to a bubble. Add the evaporated milk slowly and whisk until it comes to a boil and thickens. Remove from heat. Stir in 1 cup of the cheddar cheese until melted. Taste to see if you want to add salt.
  • 4. Heat oven to 350F Lightly spray a 9x13 casserole. Combine the pasta, pasta sauce and meat. Spoon half of it into the casserole. Pour the cheese sauce over the top. Spoon the rest of the pasta mixture over the top. Now top this with the remaining 2 c cheddar. Bake for 25-30 minutes. This can be prepare ahead and refrigerated but it will take longer to bake. This also is supposed to freeze well according to the paper. :-)

2 pounds ground beef
¼ cup chopped onion
2 (26.5 ounce) cans meatless spaghetti sauce
1 (16 ounce) container fat-free sour cream
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
½ cup Parmesan cheese
salt and black pepper to taste

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a deep 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil over high heat. Stir in the spaghetti. Boil the pasta until cooked through but still firm to the bite, 8 to 10 minutes. Drain well.
  • Brown ground beef and onion in a large skillet over high heat; drain fat. Stir in the spaghetti sauce, sour cream, and 1 cup of the mozzarella. Mix in the cooked pasta.
