BEST BROCCOLI SALAD EVER!
This is a delightful, cool, and crisp salad with healthy fruits, vegetables, and nuts that is a great accompaniment to any entree. It's a real favorite with anyone who tries it. This is a fun recipe as you can get creative with it. I have even made it with out the sunflower seeds, and it was still delicious.

BEST EVER BROCCOLI SALAD
After looking at over 300 Broccoli Salad Recipes on RecipeZaar to be sure I wasn't duplicating something that had already been posted, it would seem that the last thing that RecipeZaar needs is another Broccoli Salad Recipe. However, even though there are several recipes that are similar, this one has not been posted. Every time I take this anywhere I hear, "This is the best Broccoli Salad I have ever tasted", and I get many requests for the recipe, so I figured that posting on RecipeZaar was a good way to share it with all of those people, and introduce them to RecipeZaar at the same time. I had five requests for it just last night. This recipe makes enough for a large group, so if you are fixing it for a small gathering or family dinner, cut it in half.

Steps:
- Wash and cut the broccoli into bite sized pieces. Use only the flowerets, discarding the large stem pieces.
- Cut the whole pound of bacon into small pieces (this is very easy to do if the bacon is frozen) and fry the bacon pieces until crisp. Drain bacon on paper towels.
- Whisk the mayonnaise and sugar together. After well blended, whisk in vinegar one tablespoon at a time. Refrigerate this dressing until time to serve the salad.
- When taking this to a pot luck, I put each ingredient into a separate plastic bag and toss everything together in a large salad bowl just before serving.

Tips:
- For the best flavor, use fresh broccoli florets. If you don't have fresh broccoli, you can use frozen broccoli florets, but be sure to thaw them completely before using.
- To make the salad more colorful, add some other vegetables, such as shredded carrots, chopped celery, or red bell pepper.
- For a more flavorful dressing, use freshly squeezed lemon juice instead of bottled lemon juice.
- If you don't have any bacon on hand, you can substitute cooked chicken or ham.
- To make the salad ahead of time, prepare the dressing and broccoli salad separately. Store the dressing in a jar in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, and store the broccoli salad in a covered container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. When you're ready to serve, toss the broccoli salad with the dressing and serve immediately.
Conclusion:
This broccoli salad is a delicious and refreshing side dish that is perfect for any occasion. It is easy to make and can be tailored to your own taste preferences. So next time you're looking for a healthy and flavorful salad, give this broccoli salad a try!
