BEST CHICKEN BROCCOLI CASSEROLE EVER

Best Chicken Broccoli Casserole Ever image

My friend Kevin made this one night for his own dinner. About 5 or 6 people then wandered into his house around dinnertime and demanded "just a taste". Kevin had to go to McDonald's because we ate all his supper! Although I am not a fan of soup food in general, this is one of the best incarnations of the genre I have ever seen! Bring on the can opener and enjoy!

BEST EVER BROCCOLI CHEESE CASSEROLE BAKE

Best Ever Broccoli Cheese Casserole Bake image

My sister got this recipe from one of her in-laws after falling in love with it a few years ago and it's been our family favorite ever since! It's so good with practically any meal, whether a mundane weeknight dinner or a more elaborate thanksgiving feast. Also, although it truly does taste the best with the cream of mushroom soup it can be made with any cream soup (I usually use broccoli cheese or 1 cream of chicken and 1 cream of celery because of picky hubby!). Oh, and I like to add a sprinkle of onion powder to the mix too! Edited to Add: I've been mixing 1/2 cup breadcrumbs and 1/2 cup parmesan cheese for the topping instead of just breadcrumbs. It's really good that way too!

BEST BROCCOLI CASSEROLE EVER!!!!

Best Broccoli Casserole Ever!!!! image

I found this on another website, but it's worth sharing. I altered the original recipe just a little bit based on experience. As a side note, my Dad HATES broccoli, but the first time this was made for dinner, he not only ate it, but he had a second serving!!

Provided by Melissa Lambert

Categories     Side Casseroles

Time 55m

Number Of Ingredients 8

2 10 oz. packages frozen broccoli
1 (15.25 ounce) can whole kernel corn, drained
1 small onion diced
1 16 oz. container sour cream
1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of broccoli soup undiluted
2 c shredded cheddar cheese
1 (6 ounce) package herb-seasoned dry bread stuffing mix
1/4 c butter, melted

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Pre-cook the broccoli about half way through. DO NOT over cook the broccoli because it will be mushy later.
  • 2. In a large bowl, mix together broccoli, corn, and onions. Stir in sour cream, soup, and shredded cheese. In a separate bowl, toss together stuffing mix and melted butter. Spread broccoli mixture into a 2-3 quart casserole dish and cover with stuffing mix.
  • 3. Bake in preheated oven for 30 minutes, or until heated through and browned on top. Sprinkle remaining 1 3/4 cups cheese on top and bake an additional 5 minutes, until cheese is melted and bubbly.

Tips:

  • Fresh is Best: Use fresh broccoli florets for the best flavor and texture. If using frozen broccoli, thaw it completely before adding it to the casserole.
  • Don't Overcook the Broccoli: Broccoli should be tender but still have a slight crunch to it. Overcooked broccoli will become mushy and lose its flavor.
  • Use a Good Cheese: A sharp cheddar cheese will give the casserole a bold flavor. You can also use a combination of cheeses, such as cheddar, Parmesan, and Gruyère.
  • Add Some Crunch: Toasted breadcrumbs or crushed crackers will add a nice crunchy texture to the casserole. You can also add some chopped nuts, such as walnuts or pecans.
  • Season to Taste: Be sure to season the casserole with salt and pepper to taste. You can also add other spices, such as garlic powder, onion powder, or paprika.

Conclusion:

Broccoli casserole is a classic comfort food dish that is easy to make and loved by people of all ages. With its creamy sauce, tender broccoli, and cheesy topping, it's the perfect dish for a weeknight dinner or a special occasion. So next time you're looking for a delicious and satisfying meal, give this broccoli casserole recipe a try.
