You can add sparkling water to the strawberry syrup for a gourmet-take on strawberry soda. You can top a glass of champagne with the strawberry syrup for a summery bellini-type beverage. Or, you can jazz things up with this recipe and use pineapple juice, orange juice, rum and sparkling wine for the ultimate strawberry punch.

1 pound fresh strawberries, hulled and quartered
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 1/4 cups strawberry syrup
1 1/2 cups 100 percent pineapple juice
1 cup orange juice
1/2 cup orange liqueur
1/2 cup dark rum
1 1/2 cups dry sparkling white wine or sparkling water
Fresh strawberries, for garnish

  • For the strawberry syrup: Heat the strawberries, sugar and 3/4 cup water in a medium saucepan until boiling.
