Time 40m

Yield 6 waffles, 4-6 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 8

2 cups flour
4 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup sugar
2 eggs
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 cups milk
1 teaspoon vanilla

Steps:

  • Oil the waffle maker.
  • Sift the dry ingredients together in a large bowl.
  • In separate bowl, separate egg whites and beat until stiff peaks form.
  • In a separate bowl, mix together the egg yolks, milk, oil , and vanilla, stir slightly.
  • Add to dry ingredients and mix well.
  • Fold in egg whites.
  • Cook in waffle iron on medium-high heat for around 5-10 minutes.

Tips:

  • To make light and fluffy waffles, use buttermilk and baking powder in your batter. Buttermilk adds a slight tanginess and helps to neutralize the baking powder, resulting in waffles that are tender and flavorful.
  • For crispy waffles, use a higher cooking temperature and cook the waffles until they are golden brown. This will create a delicious, caramelized exterior.
  • To make sure your waffles are cooked evenly, use a waffle iron that has adjustable temperature settings. This will allow you to control the cooking time and ensure that your waffles are cooked to perfection.
  • If you don't have a waffle iron, you can make waffles in a skillet. Just heat a lightly oiled skillet over medium heat and pour 1/4 cup of batter onto the skillet for each waffle. Cook the waffles for 2-3 minutes per side, or until they are golden brown.
  • Serve waffles immediately with your favorite toppings. Popular toppings include butter, syrup, fruit, whipped cream, and ice cream.

Conclusion:

Belgian waffles and Texas-style waffles are both delicious and versatile breakfast foods that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. Belgian waffles are light and fluffy with a slightly crispy exterior, while Texas-style waffles are thick and fluffy with a crispy exterior and a chewy interior. Both types of waffles can be served with a variety of toppings, making them a great option for any meal.
