Time 46m

Yield 6 servings

Number Of Ingredients 4

6 precooked brats
1 (12-ounce) can of beer
3/4 cup of water
1 onion, sliced

Steps:

  • Cook brats on grill until brown and split. Place brats in a mixture of 1/4 of the beer, 3/4 cup water and the sliced onion. Simmer the brats in the brine mixture for 30 minutes. Before serving, place brats back onto grill for 1 minute.;

Tips:

  • Choose the right beer. For optimal flavor, pick a beer that complements the bratwurst, such as a light, refreshing lager or a malty, amber ale. Avoid using dark or heavy beers, as these can overpower the taste of the bratwurst.
  • Soak the bratwurst in the beer for at least 30 minutes. This will allow the flavors of the beer to penetrate the bratwurst and give it a delicious, savory taste. If you have time, you can even soak the bratwurst overnight for an even more intense flavor.
  • Cook the bratwurst over medium heat. This will help to prevent the bratwurst from drying out and becoming tough. Be sure to turn the bratwurst frequently so that it cooks evenly.
  • Serve the bratwurst on a bun with your favorite toppings. Classic toppings include sauerkraut, mustard, and onions. However, you can also get creative and try different toppings, such as grilled peppers and onions, relish, or even bacon.

Conclusion:

Beer-soaked brats are a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for any occasion. Whether you are tailgating at a football game or just having a backyard barbecue, these brats are sure to be a hit. So next time you are looking for a tasty and unique way to cook bratwurst, give this recipe a try. You won't be disappointed!
