BEER MARGARITAS

Who would believe that beer would be the perfect solution to eradicating fluorescent green margaritas? Well, it is! Best to use not-so-micro brews to avoid an overpowering beer flavor. Use the limeade can to measure the ingredients, and adjust with extra water if the mixture seems too sweet. Straining the pulp is always a good idea, unless, of course, you like pulp!

BEER MARGARITAS

Beer Margaritas image

My friend, Margaret Roberie, gave me this recipe. she makes it every year for an annual crawfish boil at her house in New Orleans. It goes down really smooth and seems harmless. Be careful...it will knock you on your butt before you realize what is happening.

Provided by Joyce Lowery

Categories     Cocktails

Time 40m

Number Of Ingredients 5

12 oz tequila
12 oz seven up
12 oz frozen limeade concentrate
12 oz corona beer
1 lime, cut into wedges

Steps:

  • 1. Pour limeade, tequila, seven up, and beer into a large pitcher.
  • 2. Stir until well blended, and limeade has melted.
  • 3. Add plenty of ice. Garnish with lime wedges. Serve in chilled glasses that have been rimmed with salt.

Tips:

  • Use fresh limes for the best flavor. Limes that are too old or have been sitting out for too long will not produce as much juice and will have a more bitter taste.
  • If you don't have a lime squeezer, you can use a fork or a spoon to extract the juice from the limes.
  • Use a good quality tequila. A cheap tequila will not taste as good in the margarita and will make it more likely to give you a hangover.
  • Don't skimp on the salt. The salt helps to balance out the sweetness of the margarita and makes it more refreshing.
  • If you want a sweeter margarita, you can add more agave nectar or simple syrup.
  • If you want a more tart margarita, you can add more lime juice.
  • Garnish your margarita with a lime wedge or a lime twist for a festive touch.

Conclusion:

Beer margaritas are a delicious and refreshing cocktail that is perfect for any occasion. They are easy to make and can be customized to your own taste. Whether you like your margaritas sweet, tart, or somewhere in between, there is a beer margarita recipe out there for you. So next time you're looking for a fun and festive cocktail, give a beer margarita a try.
