Tips:
- Choose a firm, tart apple variety such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp for the best results.
- Use a sharp knife to cut the apples into rings of even thickness. This will help them to cook evenly.
- Soak the apple rings in a mixture of water and lemon juice to prevent them from browning.
- Use a light touch when coating the apple rings in the batter. Too much batter will weigh them down and make them greasy.
- Fry the apple rings in hot oil until they are golden brown and crispy. Be careful not to overcrowd the pan, or the oil temperature will drop and the apple rings will become soggy.
- Serve the apple rings hot with your favorite dipping sauce, such as caramel sauce, whipped cream, or ice cream.
