1 small onion, halved and sliced
1 beef top sirloin steak (1 pound), cubed
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2 teaspoons olive oil
1/3 cup dry red wine or beef broth
2 cups beef broth
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1/4 cup cold water
Hot cooked mashed potatoes

Steps:

  • Place mushrooms and onion in a 3-qt. slow cooker. Sprinkle beef with salt and pepper. In a large skillet, heat 1 teaspoon oil over medium-high heat; brown meat in batches, adding more oil as needed. 1 medium onion, coarsely chopped
1 celery rib, coarsely chopped
6 garlic cloves, halved
2 cups beef broth
1-1/2 cups dry red wine
1 fresh rosemary sprig
1 bay leaf

2 tablespoons cornstarch

1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon seasoned salt
1/4 teaspoon ground pepper
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
3 pounds beef tips (or stew meat cubed)
2 Tablespoons olive oil
1 onion (diced)
1 cup fresh mushrooms
10.5 ounces beef broth (condensed)
2 Tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 Tablespoons ketchup
2 Tablespoons red wine vinegar
2 Tablespoons water
1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
2 Tablespoons cornstarch
2 Tablespoons cold water

Steps:

  • Spray slow cooker with non-stick cooking spray.
  • In a medium bowl, mix together flour, salt, garlic powder, and pepper. Dredge meat tips in the flour mixture.
