BEEF SIRLOIN STEW BOURGUIGNON

Beef Sirloin Stew Bourguignon image

This is a "killer" beef dish! I have made this using a small prime rib roast cut into cubes and added in the ribs bones also. You will need 2 (750-ml) bottles of red wine and brandy for this, how could this be bad LOL! or just reduce the wine and add in more beef broth, but it will not have the same flavor! This complete dish can be made 1 day ahead, and really it should be, as it tastes even better the following day! Serve this with crusty garlic bread.

Tips:

  • Choose the right cut of beef: Sirloin tip steak is a lean and flavorful cut that is perfect for stews. Look for a piece of meat that is well-marbled with fat, as this will help to keep the meat moist and tender during cooking.
  • Brown the beef before stewing: Browning the beef before adding it to the stew will help to develop its flavor and create a rich, brown sauce. To brown the beef, heat a large pot or Dutch oven over medium-high heat and add a little oil. Once the oil is hot, add the beef and cook, stirring occasionally, until it is browned on all sides.
  • Use a variety of vegetables: Vegetables add flavor, color, and nutrients to beef stew. Some good choices include carrots, potatoes, onions, celery, and mushrooms. You can also add other vegetables, such as green beans, corn, or peas.
  • Simmer the stew low and slow: Beef stew is a dish that benefits from long, slow cooking. This allows the flavors of the beef and vegetables to meld together and the meat to become tender. Simmer the stew over low heat for at least 1 hour, or until the beef is fall-apart tender.
  • Season the stew to taste: Once the stew is done cooking, season it to taste with salt, pepper, and other herbs and spices. Some good choices include garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and thyme.

Conclusion:

Beef sirloin tip steak stew is a hearty, flavorful, and satisfying meal that is perfect for a cold winter night. With a few simple tips, you can make a delicious beef stew that your family and friends will love. So next time you're looking for a comforting and easy-to-make meal, give beef sirloin tip steak stew a try.
