A great tasting beef stew in minutes rather than hours. I wanted beef stew one night for dinner but didn't have time to do it in my slow cooker, so I modified the recipe for my pressure cooker and it was ready in 30 minutes and turned out better than in the slow cooker..

  • Quick release steam, remove cover and check gravy for desired thickness. If necessary stir in a little more flour mixed with hot water to thicken as desired.

Tips:

  • Choose the right cut of meat. The best cuts for bear stew are those that are tough and flavorful, such as chuck roast, shoulder, or brisket. These cuts will hold up well to the long cooking time and develop a rich flavor.
  • Brown the meat before cooking. Browning the meat adds flavor and helps to keep it from becoming dry. To brown the meat, heat a large pot or Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Add the meat and cook, stirring occasionally, until it is browned on all sides.
  • Use a variety of vegetables. Bear stew is a great way to use up leftover vegetables. Some good choices include carrots, celery, onions, potatoes, and turnips. You can also add other vegetables, such as mushrooms, parsnips, or rutabagas.
  • Add some spices and herbs. Spices and herbs add flavor and depth to bear stew. Some good choices include garlic, thyme, rosemary, bay leaves, and black pepper. You can also add other spices and herbs, such as paprika, cumin, or chili powder.
  • Cook the stew until the meat is tender. The cooking time will vary depending on the cut of meat and the size of the pieces. Cook the stew until the meat is fork-tender.

Conclusion:

Bear stew is a hearty and flavorful dish that is perfect for a cold winter day. It is easy to make and can be cooked in a slow cooker or pressure cooker. With a few simple tips, you can make a delicious bear stew that your family and friends will love.
