Time 4h10m

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 pork tenderloin (1.2 to 2 pounds)
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1 cup chicken broth or water
1 cup BBQ sauce (store bought or homemade)

Steps:

  • Remove the pork tenderloin from the package, and place it on a cutting board.
  • In a small bowl combine the salt, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix to combine.
  • Rub your spice mixture all over the tenderloin, and then place it in the bottom of your slow cooker.
  • Add the water or chicken stock to the bottom of the slow cooker (don't pour it over the pork, though, so that you don't wash off your spice rub).
  • Add the lid and cook on high for 4-5 hours, or until the tenderloin is easy to shred with a fork.
  • Remove the pork from the crock pot, and shred with 2 forks. Return it to the slow cooker, and mix it with any liquid that might have remained in the bottom of the slow cooker.
  • Add your BBQ sauce, and stir to combine. Adjust salt and BBQ amounts to your liking, serve warm.

BBQ PORK TENDERLOIN IN THE CROCK POT

BBQ Pork Tenderloin in the Crock Pot image

I wanted to make BBQ pork tenderloin in the slow cooker, but not pulled pork. This worked out nicely so I thought I'd post the recipe so I can make it again. Hope you enjoy it too. This was easy to slice, though could have easily been shredded as well. Served with rice to put the extra sauce on, along with a veg (I used peas and carrots). I only cooked 1 pork tenderloin and had lots of sauce leftover so you might only want to double the sauce if you do 3 or more tenderloins I would guess?!?

Categories     Lunch/Snacks

Time 6h5m

Yield 4-6 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 4

1 pork tenderloin (mine are over 1 pound)
1 (16 ounce) bottle your favorite barbecue sauce (I use with honey)
salt and pepper
hamburger bun (I used potato rolls)

Steps:

  • Pour whole bottle of BBQ in crock pot; add pork, salt and pepper.
  • Put your lid on and cook on low for 6 hours.
  • The meat will start to shred. When it does, I flip it on high heat and cook it another 1/2 hour until all is shredded.
  • Add to hamburger bun/rolls.

Tips:

  • For a more flavorful tenderloin, marinate it in your favorite BBQ sauce for at least 30 minutes before cooking.
  • If you don't have a crock pot, you can also cook the tenderloin in a Dutch oven over low heat for 6-8 hours.
  • Serve the tenderloin with your favorite sides, such as mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or a salad.
  • Add a cup of apple cider vinegar to the crock pot for a tangy flavor.
  • If your sauce is too thick, add a little bit of water or chicken broth until it reaches the desired consistency.
  • To give the tenderloin a crispy crust, broil it in the oven for a few minutes before serving.
  • Add a teaspoon of liquid smoke to the crock pot for a smoky flavor.
  • If you are short on time, you can cook the tenderloin on high for 4-6 hours instead of low for 8-10 hours.

Conclusion:

Crock pot BBQ pork tenderloin is a delicious and easy-to-make meal that is perfect for any occasion. It is a great way to use up leftover BBQ sauce, and it is always a hit with family and friends. Serve it with your favorite sides, and enjoy!
