CHINESE-STYLE BBQ PORK RIBS
Always the crowd pleaser at any BBQ. Sweet and sticky. This family favorite was handed down to me. I wouldn't do ribs any other way. It's a little involved: overnight marinade, baking, then finishing off on the BBQ, but well worth the effort. And kids love them too! I like to serve this with corn on the cob, an herb or pilaf rice, roasted potatoes, or a salad.

Steps:
- Peel membrane off the bone side of ribs, if desired. Poke meat all over with a fork; place ribs in a resealable plastic zip-top bag.
- Mix soy sauce, white wine, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, five-spice, and black pepper together. Pour over the ribs in the bag, seal, and marinate at least 1 hour, ideally overnight. Shake bag occasionally.
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Remove ribs from marinade and place in a greased baking pan. Discard marinade.
- Bake in the preheated oven, turning once, until meat pulls away easily from the bone, 50 to 55 minutes. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should read 145 degrees F (63 degrees C).
- Meanwhile, mix hoisin sauce, honey, sesame oil, wine, brown sugar, five-spice, garlic powder, and pepper together for the BBQ sauce. Preheat an outdoor grill for medium heat and lightly oil the grate. Keep ribs wrapped in aluminum foil until ready to grill.
- Grill ribs over medium-low to medium heat, brushing with the BBQ sauce, until sauce is thick and ribs are heated through, with some grill marks, 15 to 20 minutes. Do not overcook or they will become dry. Slice before serving.

AWARD WINNING BBQ PORK RIBS
I have won many BBQ competitions with this recipe. They are outstanding in a smoker but, can also be done in the oven or on a grill. If you cook them in the oven use baby backs and reduce the cook time. Serve with potato salad and Cole Slaw. It takes years of practice to be able to cook great ribs, this recipe will help you out tremedously. I use Head Country BBQ Sauce if i am not making my own (Recipe #322637) but any good bbq sauce should work. You can purchase Head Country online at http://www.headcountry.com. BBQ SMOKER PORK RIBS RECIPE BY TASTY

Steps:
- Using a charcoal chimney or lighter fluid, light 6-8 pieces of lump charcoal and let them come to a full burn. Add to your firebox and preheat the smoker to roughly 225°F (105°C), adding charcoal to the fire as necessary.
- Add the ginger, cayenne, garlic powder, paprika, minced garlic, onion powder, black pepper, and mustard powder in a medium bowl and mix thoroughly.
- Place ribs on a large sheet of aluminum foil and coat liberally with spice rub on all sides.
- Place a metal pan filled with water at the end of the smoker's cooking chamber closest to the firebox. Place ribs directly on the grate of your cooking chamber and close the smoker. Open the vents at both ends of the smoker.
- Add a chunk or two of smoking wood to the firebox each half hour to create a stream of thin but visible smoke that is somewhat blue in appearance. Too much wood may result in thick, gray smoke. If this happens, open the smoker and clear the smoke out, waiting to close it until you're able to achieve manageable smoke again.
- Maintain the heat by adding additional charcoal as necessary.
- Smoke ribs for 3-5 hours, spraying each hour with water to keep the surface from drying out.
- Cook time will vary based on the size and type of rib (baby backs will cook faster than spareribs). Use a meat thermometer to gauge doneness.
- At 170°F (75°C), remove the ribs from the smoker and place onto a large sheet of aluminum foil. If using barbecue sauce, apply now with a basting brush. Wrap the aluminum foil up to enclose the ribs, and place them back in your smoker for an additional 30 minutes.
- Let meat rest at least 15 minutes off the heat before slicing. Serve with remaining barbecue sauce and preferred sides.
- Enjoy!

Steps:
- 1. Combine all the ingredients for the all purpose seasoning, store in an airtight container and use as needed.
- 2. Cut the ribs in half and rub them all over with the all purpose seasoning. Place them in a ziploc bag and put in the fridge overnight. When ready to cook, place the ribs on their sides in the crock pot with the meaty side facing the outer part of the crock pot (I used a 4 quart crock pot for mine). Pour in any juice left in the ziploc bag. Pour 3/4 C. of BBQ sauce over the top of the ribs. Cover and cook on low for 6 hours, spooning the sauce over the ribs every so often as they cook.
- 3. When you are ready to serve them, cover a baking sheet with tinfoil, turn the broiler on high and carefully remove the ribs to the baking sheet. Brush with a little more BBQ sauce and pop under the broiler to 2-3 minutes to add more color to the ribs. This is really optional, I do not always do it unless we have company coming for supper.

- Use a flavorful rub: Combine spices like paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, and chili powder to create a rub that will enhance the ribs' natural flavors.
- Smoke the ribs low and slow: Maintain a steady temperature around 225°F (107°C) for several hours to achieve tender, fall-off-the-bone ribs.
- Wrap the ribs in foil: After a few hours of smoking, wrap the ribs in foil with some liquid, such as apple juice or broth, to help tenderize and prevent them from drying out.
- Glaze the ribs: In the final 30 minutes of cooking, apply a glaze made from your favorite BBQ sauce, honey, or fruit preserves to add a glossy finish and extra flavor.
- Let the ribs rest: Before serving, let the ribs rest for at least 15 minutes, allowing the juices to redistribute and the meat to relax for a more enjoyable eating experience.
Conclusion:
By following these tips and choosing a flavorful recipe from the ones provided, you can create delicious BBQ pork ribs that will impress your family and friends. Remember to select high-quality ribs, prepare them properly, use a flavorful rub, smoke them low and slow, wrap them in foil, glaze them, and let them rest.
