EASY FALL OFF THE BONE OVEN-BAKED RIBS
Low and slow cooking make these oven-baked ribs fall off the bone tender. Once baked, we like to add our sweet and spicy barbecue sauce to the ribs, but use whatever you love. For the most tender ribs, we remove the thin membrane covering the back of the rack. Depending on where you have purchased ribs, this may already be done for you. If not, instructions are in the notes section below. FAQ: We call for baby back ribs in the recipe, but other types of ribs (spareribs, country-style, St. Louis-style) will work with this recipe. Cook time should be similar, we recommend that you check on the ribs while they cook to see how they are progressing. FAQ: Doubling or tripling the recipe below should not change the recipe method or bake time. You might need to use two pans for baking.

Steps:
- Heat oven to 275° Fahrenheit (135C).
- If the ribs still have the thin membrane covering the back of the rack, remove it. See how in the notes section below.
- Season both sides of the ribs with a generous amount of salt and pepper. If you are using a spice rub, add season the ribs with it now. Place the ribs, meat-side up, into a large roasting pan or rimmed baking sheet. (It may be necessary to cut the ribs in half for them to fit into the pan).
- Cover the pan or baking sheet tightly with aluminum foil, and then bake until the meat falls easily from the bones, 2 ½ to 3 ½ hours. We like to check the ribs after 2 hours to see how they are progressing. The ribs are done when the meat is cooked through and tender.
- While the ribs bake, make the barbecue sauce. Heat the olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat.
- Add the onions and cook until soft and translucent, 5 to 8 minutes. Stir in the cumin and cook for an additional 30 seconds.
- Add the ketchup, hot chili sauce, brown sugar, and apple cider vinegar. Stir to combine, season with salt then cook for 2 minutes. Set aside in preparation for the ribs to finish roasting.
- Remove the ribs from the oven, discard the aluminum foil and generously brush both sides with barbecue sauce.
- Optional: Move an oven rack near the top of the oven. Turn broiler to high and broil the ribs for 3-4 minutes, just until the barbecue sauce begins to caramelize. (Keep a close eye on the ribs while they broil so the sauce does not burn.)
- Store baked ribs, in an airtight container, in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Freeze, wrapped in foil or freezer paper and in an airtight container, for up to 3 months. Thaw in the refrigerator, and then reheat.
- To reheat the ribs, wrap in foil or parchment paper and place into a 300°F oven until warmed through, about 30 minutes. If you have some leftover, slather some extra sauce that's been warmed over the ribs before serving.

PULLED PORK BARBECUE
Tyler Florence's Pulled Pork Barbecue recipe from Food Network starts with a flavorful dry rub that includes paprika, brown sugar and mustard powder.

Steps:
- Mix the paprika, garlic power, brown sugar, dry mustard, and salt together in a small bowl. Rub the spice blend all over the pork. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or up to overnight.
- Preheat the oven to 300 degrees F. Put the pork in a roasting pan and roast it for about 6 hours. An instant-read thermometer stuck into the thickest part of the pork should register 170 degrees F, but basically, what you want to do is to roast it until it's falling apart.
- While the pork is roasting, make the barbecue sauce. Combine the vinegar, mustard, ketchup, brown sugar, garlic, salt, cayenne, and black pepper in a saucepan over medium heat. Simmer gently, stirring, for 10 minutes until the sugar dissolves. Take it off the heat and let it sit until you're ready for it.
- When the pork is done, take it out of the oven and put it on a large platter. Allow the meat to rest for about 10 minutes. While it's resting, deglaze the pan over medium heat with 3/4 cup water, scraping with a wooden spoon to pick up all of the browned bits. Reduce by about half. Pour that into the saucepan with the sauce and cook 5 minutes.
- While the pork is still warm, you want to "pull" the meat: Grab 2 forks. Using 1 to steady the meat, use the other to "pull" shreds of meat off the roast. Put the shredded pork in a bowl and pour half of the sauce over. Stir it all up well so that the pork is coated with the sauce.
- To serve, spoon the pulled pork mixture onto the bottom half of each hamburger bun, and top with some slaw. Serve with pickle spears and the remaining sauce on the side.
- Combine the cabbage, carrots, red onion, green onions, and chile in a large bowl. In another bowl, stir together the mayonnaise, mustard, vinegar, lemon juice, and sugar. Pour the dressing over the cabbage mixture and toss gently to mix. Season the cole slaw with the celery seed, hot sauce, salt, and black pepper. Chill for 2 hours in the refrigerator before serving.

Tips:
- Choose the best pork ribs: Baby back ribs are the most popular choice for BBQ pork featherbones, but you can also use spare ribs or loin ribs. Look for ribs that are meaty and have a good amount of marbling.
- Prepare the ribs: Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs. This will help the ribs cook more evenly and make them more tender. You can also trim the excess fat from the ribs, if desired.
- Make a flavorful marinade: The marinade is what gives BBQ pork featherbones their delicious flavor. There are many different recipes for BBQ marinade, so choose one that you like. Some common ingredients in BBQ marinade include brown sugar, ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, and onion.
- Cook the ribs slowly and low: BBQ pork featherbones are best cooked slowly and low. This allows the meat to become tender and fall off the bone. You can cook the ribs in the oven, on the grill, or in a smoker. The cooking time will vary depending on the method you choose.
- Baste the ribs frequently: Basting the ribs during cooking helps to keep them moist and flavorful. You can baste the ribs with the marinade, BBQ sauce, or a mixture of both.
- Let the ribs rest before serving: Once the ribs are cooked, let them rest for a few minutes before serving. This allows the juices to redistribute throughout the meat, making them even more tender and flavorful.
Conclusion:
BBQ pork featherbones are a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for any occasion. With a little planning and preparation, you can create BBQ pork featherbones that will impress your friends and family. So fire up the grill or smoker and get started today!
