Time 1h10m

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 egg white
2 Tbsp liquid smoke
3 c salted peanuts
1/2 c sugar
1 tsp chili powder
1 tsp ground cumin
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper

Steps:

  • 1. Pre-heat oven to 250 F. Grease a 15x10x1 inch baking pan.
  • 2. In a bowl, whisk egg white until foamy. Add liquid smoke and peanuts; toss to coat.
  • 3. Combine the remaining ingredients. Sprinkle over nuts; toss to coat.
  • 4. Spread in a single layer on your greased baking pan. Bake for 1 hour, stirring once half way through baking.
  • 5. Spread on wax paper to cool. **this is a must do step**
  • 6. Store in airtight container.

Tips:

  • Choose the right peanuts. Raw peanuts are best for this recipe, as they will absorb the marinade better and have a more flavorful result. If you use roasted peanuts, they will be less flavorful and may burn more easily.
  • Make sure the peanuts are dry. Wet peanuts will not absorb the marinade as well and will be more likely to burn. If you need to rinse the peanuts, make sure to dry them thoroughly before using them.
  • Use a flavorful marinade. The marinade is what will give your BBQ peanuts their flavor, so make sure to use a marinade that you enjoy. You can use a store-bought marinade or make your own. If you are making your own marinade, be sure to use a combination of sweet, salty, and savory ingredients.
  • Cook the peanuts over medium heat. High heat will cause the peanuts to burn, so be sure to cook them over medium heat. This will allow the peanuts to cook evenly and develop a nice flavor.
  • Stir the peanuts frequently. Stirring the peanuts frequently will help them to cook evenly and prevent them from burning. You should stir the peanuts every few minutes, especially towards the end of the cooking time.
  • Let the peanuts cool before serving. Once the peanuts are cooked, let them cool for a few minutes before serving. This will allow the flavors to meld together and will make the peanuts easier to handle. You can store the peanuts in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.

Conclusion:

BBQ peanuts are a delicious and easy-to-make snack that is perfect for any occasion. With just a few simple ingredients, you can make a batch of BBQ peanuts that your family and friends will love. So next time you are looking for a tasty snack, try making a batch of BBQ peanuts. You won't be disappointed!
