These chicken tenders have a barbecue base but are elevated with a decidedly Asian influence. I use Savory Spice® Asian Delight BBQ Rub, which is different from Chinese five-spice.

cooking spray
⅓ cup barbeque sauce (such as Sweet Baby Ray's® Hickory & Brown Sugar)
1 ½ tablespoons Asian-flavored barbeque seasoning (such as Savory Spice® Asian Delight BBQ Rub)
1 tablespoon caramel sauce
1 pound chicken tenders

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Spray an 8x8-inch casserole dish with cooking spray.
  • Combine barbeque sauce, barbeque seasoning, and caramel sauce in a shallow dish. Reserve 2 tablespoons of the mixture.
  • Dip each chicken tender into the barbeque sauce mixture and coat thoroughly. Place in the prepared casserole dish.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until chicken is no longer pink in the center and the juices run clear, about 25 minutes. Baste with reserved sauce and continue baking for 5 minutes. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should read at least 165 degrees F (74 degrees C).

Tips:

  • Use fresh chicken tenders: Fresh chicken tenders will give you the best flavor and texture. If you are using frozen chicken tenders, be sure to thaw them completely before cooking.
  • Marinate the chicken tenders: Marinating the chicken tenders in a flavorful marinade will help them to stay moist and juicy during cooking. You can use a variety of marinades, but some popular options include olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, and herbs.
  • Cook the chicken tenders over medium heat: Cooking the chicken tenders over medium heat will help them to cook evenly without burning. If you cook the chicken tenders over high heat, they may brown too quickly on the outside but remain raw on the inside.
  • Use a meat thermometer to ensure the chicken tenders are cooked through: The safest way to ensure that the chicken tenders are cooked through is to use a meat thermometer. Insert the meat thermometer into the thickest part of the chicken tender and cook until it reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Serve the chicken tenders with your favorite dipping sauce: Chicken tenders can be served with a variety of dipping sauces, such as barbecue sauce, ranch dressing, or honey mustard.

Conclusion:

BBQ chicken tenders are a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer or main course. They can be made with a variety of marinades and dipping sauces, so you can customize them to your own taste. Whether you are cooking for a party or just a weeknight dinner, BBQ chicken tenders are sure to be a hit.
