AROMATIC BASMATI RICE (RICE COOKER)
From The Ultimate Rice Cooker Cookbook. The authors specify a 6 cup rice cooker for this, but I've had no problem with my 3 cup model. This would be wonderful as a side to tandoori chicken. Do not eat the whole spices. Cook time includes letting the rice rest on the 'keep warm' setting.

Tips:
- Choose the right type of rice. Basmati rice is a long-grain rice that is known for its delicate flavor and aroma. It is the best choice for this recipe.
- Rinse the rice before cooking. This will help to remove any starch and dirt from the rice.
- Use the correct water-to-rice ratio. The package of rice will usually specify the correct ratio. For this recipe, the ratio is 1 cup of rice to 1 3/4 cups of water.
- Add salt to the water. This will help to flavor the rice.
- Bring the water to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Cover the pot and simmer for 18 minutes, or until the rice is tender and all of the water has been absorbed.
