Time 3h5m

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 cup lukewarm water
1/3 cup lukewarm milk
3 Tbsp melted butter
3 Tbsp white sugar
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp instant dry yeast
3 3/4 cup all purpose flour

Steps:

  • Pour in ALL your ingredients by order into the bread machine.
  • Close the lid, choose your settings. I do a 2 lb loaf, basic loaf, light or medium crust. And then click start.
  • After the bread is all done, carefully remove the pan from the machine and leave on the counter for 10 minutes. To get the bread out, carefully shake it and place in a storage container or bag.
  • Serve warm or cold, do as you wish. Just store it properly for freshness and so it doesn't go stale quickly. It last about 3-4 days stored in a cloth bag in a dark area of your kitchen or pantry.

SOFT AND EASY WHITE BREAD (BREAD MACHINE)

Soft and Easy White Bread (Bread Machine) image

Another of my "go to" easy bread machine recipes. This promises to be fail proof and turns out a soft bread w/ a flaky crust. Perfect for all uses; my favorite is a big slice popped in the micro for 10 seconds and then slathered w/ butter for that "hot out the oven" goodness!

WALTER SANDS BASIC WHITE BREAD, BREAD MACHINE VERSION

Walter Sands Basic White Bread, Bread Machine Version image

This is the best white bread recipe I have ever made. It easily converts itself to rolls, cinnamon raisin swirl bread, whatever. My family really likes it. I know yours will, too. Copied directly from the King Arthur flour website

Time 3h5m

Yield 1 loaf, 18 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 1/4-1 1/3 cups water
1 tablespoon honey or 1 tablespoon sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
2 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup dry milk
17 ounces unbleached all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons instant yeast

Steps:

  • Put everything in the bread maker in the above order. I choose the dough setting, as I don't like to bake my bread in it. Let rise until doubled, it may take longer than the time allotted by the machine. Remove, form, put in a 9x5' bread pan. Cover with a damp towel or oiled cling wrap and let rise until it is an in to an inch and a half over the rim of the pan, about an hour.
  • Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 35 to 40 minutes, rotating halfway through for even browning. Remove, turn out, let cool completely on a wire rack and offer to a friend.
  • One footnote; I like to use hi-maize natural fiber as part of the flour, 1/3 cup, it makes white bread healthier, and you don't even know it is there!

Time 2h10m

Yield 2 pound loaf

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 2/3 cups water
3 tablespoons powdered milk
3 tablespoons margarine
3 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon salt
4 1/4 cups bread flour
2 teaspoons yeast

Steps:

  • Follow directions for your bread machine.
  • Instructions for my machine are: Add all ingredients to the baking pan in the order listed. (I mix the water and powdered milk and microwave them on high for 30 seconds before puting in the pan).
  • Insert the baking pan into the oven chamber and secure pan.
  • Select rapid bake setting and 2-pound loaf.
  • Turn on machine.
  • When cycle is complete, I put the loaf into a large zip lock bag, seal the bag, and put it on a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.

Tips:

  • Use fresh ingredients: Fresh ingredients will produce the best-tasting bread. If you can, use organic ingredients whenever possible.
  • Measure your ingredients accurately: This is especially important for bread baking. Even a small mistake in measurement can affect the outcome of your bread.
  • Proof your yeast: Proofing your yeast is an important step that helps to ensure that your bread will rise properly. To proof your yeast, dissolve it in warm water with a little sugar and let it sit for 5-10 minutes, until it is foamy.
  • Knead your dough properly: Kneading your dough is an important step that helps to develop the gluten in the flour. This will make your bread more elastic and chewy. Knead your dough for at least 5 minutes, or until it is smooth and elastic.
  • Let your dough rise in a warm place: This will help the dough to double in size. A warm place that is free from drafts is ideal.
  • Bake your bread at the right temperature: The temperature of your oven will affect the way your bread bakes. The ideal temperature for baking bread is 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Let your bread cool before slicing: This will help the bread to set and prevent it from crumbling.

Conclusion:

With a little practice, you can easily make delicious white bread in your bread machine. Just follow these tips and you'll be baking perfect loaves of bread in no time. So what are you waiting for? Get started today!
