Nut and Fruit Bread image

This is another great holiday bread to make that belonged to my mother. She sometimes served this one, and it is a very old recipe. This bread is good the first day, but better the second. You may use dates instead of raisins if you wish.

Tips:

  • Choose ripe, sweet fruits for the best flavor. Fruits that are too tart or unripe will not produce a flavorful bread.
  • Don't overmix the batter. Overmixing will develop the gluten in the flour and make the bread tough.
  • Bake the bread until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. If the toothpick comes out with batter or crumbs attached, the bread needs to bake longer.
  • Let the bread cool completely before slicing and serving. This will help the bread to set and prevent it from crumbling.
  • Store the bread in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. You can also freeze the bread for up to 2 months.

Conclusion:

Fruit bread is a delicious and versatile treat that can be enjoyed for breakfast, lunch, or dessert. With a variety of fruits and flavors to choose from, there is sure to be a fruit bread recipe that everyone will love. So next time you're looking for a sweet and satisfying snack, give fruit bread a try!
