EASY FRIED RICE

Easy Fried Rice image

I never could make fried rice, it always turned out sticky and nasty. Until one night when I couldn't sleep, I turned on the tv and watched this infomercial for cookware and they made fried rice. And what do you know, its a good recipe! Only thing good that ever came out of a infomercial, lol. Anyway my whole family loves it and have been asked for the recipe many times. If you have leftover chicken, toss it in too. I've also added hamburger and other veggies with good results too.

Tips:

  • Use day-old rice: This will help the rice grains stay separate and not clump together.
  • Rinse the rice thoroughly before cooking: This will remove the starch and help the rice cook evenly.
  • Use a large skillet or wok: This will give the rice plenty of room to spread out and cook evenly.
  • Heat the oil over high heat: This will help the rice get a nice crispy texture.
  • Add the rice and stir constantly: This will help prevent the rice from sticking to the pan.
  • Cook the rice until it is heated through: This will usually take about 5 minutes.
  • Add the vegetables and cook until they are tender: This will usually take about 3 minutes.
  • Add the eggs and cook until they are scrambled: This will usually take about 1 minute.
