Steps:
- Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F. Melt 1 tablespoon butter in a wide, deep cast iron (or other ovenproof) skillet. Once melted, pour the butter into a small mixing bowl, then combine with the Panko breadcrumbs and the Parmesan cheese. Set aside.
- Meanwhile, bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add the broccoli and cook until crisp-tender, about 3 minutes. Drain and set aside.
- Melt the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter in the same skillet. Sprinkle the white whole wheat flour over the top, then whisk constantly for 1 minute, until the butter smells fragrant and the flour turns slightly golden. Very slowly pour in the milk, whisking constantly, adding a little at a time so that you break up the clumps of flour as you go. Continue whisking until the sauce thickens, about 3 minutes, allowing the mixture to bubble. Stir in the garlic powder, salt, mustard, black pepper, and cayenne (if using). Remove the skillet from the heat, then stir in the cheddar until smooth.
- Add the reserved broccoli, stir to coat, then pat the broccoli into an even layer in the skillet. (Alternatively, if you feel your skillet is not large enough to easily stir in the broccoli without it spilling out, you can combine the two in a separate bowl, then transfer the mixture back into the skillet.)
- Sprinkle the Panko mixture evenly over the top of the broccoli. Bake until hot and the topping is crisp and light golden brown, about 20-25 minutes. (Tip: For an even crisper topping, place the skillet under your broiler for a few minutes at the end, watching carefully so that it doesn't burn.) Let stand 5 minutes, then serve.

BARB'S CHEESY BROCCOLI BAKE
This is a recipe I got from a co-worker almost 20 years ago. I checked and saw many that were similar, but didn't have exactly this recipe. I love it so much and so does my family. Enjoy! P.S. I will add pictures soon.

Steps:
- 1. Preheat oven to 350. Start cooking rice until done and set aside.
- 2. Cook broccoli until barely tender. I usually just microwave. Then drain well and set aside.
- 3. Stir soup and sourcream together in larger bowel.
- 4. Add remaining ingredients to soup and sour cream mixture (rice, broccolli, chunk chicken).
- 5. Spoon mixture into a 1 1/2 qt. casserole. Sprinkle with buttered breadcrumbs.
- 6. For buttered breadcrumbs I have used a toaster oven or microwave. Added slices of butter to top of bread crumbs and toast or microwave until slightly melted, then use fork to mix together. The amount of butter and breadcrumbs is to taste. I like a lot of buttered breadcrumbs for my topping.
- 7. Bake 30-35 minutes uncovered.

Steps:
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Line 3 baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats.
- Cook the broccoli according to the package directions. Transfer to a colander to drain until cool, about 5 minutes.
- Transfer the broccoli to a large bowl and add the mozzarella, feta, ricotta, dill, chives, red pepper flakes, lemon zest, 1 teaspoon salt and 1/2 teaspoon pepper. Stir together with a large spoon, using the back of it to crush any large broccoli florets. Set aside.
- Whisk the egg with 1 tablespoon water in a small bowl. Set aside.
- Roll out a sheet of the puff pastry on a clean work surface into a 12-inch square, dusting with flour as needed to prevent sticking. Cut the puff pastry into sixteen 3-inch squares with a pizza wheel or knife. Place 1 tablespoon of the broccoli mixture in the center of each square. Working with a square at a time, pinch together 2 opposite corners, then pinch together the remaining 2 corners to create a small packet. Transfer the packets to a baking sheet. Repeat with the remaining puff pastry and filling. Brush the packets with the egg wash and sprinkle with the sesame seeds.
- Working in batches if needed, bake the packets until golden and bubbly, 20 to 22 minutes.
Tips:
- Fresh is best: For the best flavor and texture, use fresh broccoli and cheese. If you're using frozen broccoli, be sure to thaw it completely before cooking.
- Season to taste: Don't be afraid to season the dish to your liking. Add more salt, pepper, garlic powder, or onion powder until it tastes just the way you like it.
- Don't overcook the broccoli: Broccoli is best when it's still slightly crisp. Overcooked broccoli will become mushy and lose its flavor.
- Use a good quality cheese: The type of cheese you use will make a big difference in the flavor of the dish. Use a cheese that melts well and has a strong flavor, such as cheddar, Gruyère, or Parmesan.
- Serve immediately: Cheesy broccoli is best served immediately after it's cooked. The longer it sits, the more the broccoli will absorb the cheese and become soggy.
Conclusion:
Cheesy broccoli is a classic dish that is loved by people of all ages. It's a simple dish to make, but it's packed with flavor. Whether you're serving it as a side dish or a main course, cheesy broccoli is sure to be a hit.
