Time 1h

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 can tomato sauce, 14 1/2 ounces
1 small onion, minced (about 1/2 cup)
1 clove garlic, minced
1 tablespoon plus 2 teaspoons dark-brown sugar
1 tablespoon cider vinegar
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
Salt and fresh ground pepper
1 1/2 pounds boneless pork loin, tied
1 tablespoon canola oil

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Make the barbecue sauce: In a medium bowl, stir together tomato sauce, 1/4 cup water, onion, garlic, sugar, vinegar, mustard, Worcestershire, 1/4 teaspoon salt, and 1/8 teaspoon pepper. Set aside.
  • Sprinkle 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/8 teaspoon pepper over pork. In a medium ovenproof skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat. Place pork in skillet, and sear on all sides until golden brown, about 8 minutes total. Remove from heat, pour off excess fat from skillet, and carefully pour some of the barbecue sauce over pork, covering completely.
  • Transfer skillet to oven. Cook, basting every 15 minutes, until juices run clear, about 45 minutes; meat should register 155 degrees on an instant-read thermometer. Transfer pork to a cutting board; cover and let rest about 10 minutes, then slice thinly and serve with remaining barbecue sauce.

Provided by Food Network

Yield 4 servings

Number Of Ingredients 18

4 (1 1/2" thick, bone-on) center cut pork chops
2 Tbs. brown sugar
2 Tbs. Hungarian smoked paprika
1 Tbs. garlic powder
1 tsp. cayenne pepper
1 Tbs. coarse Salt
2 Tbs. coarse ground black pepper
olive oil
1 Tbs. vegetable oil
1 small onion finely diced
1 clove garlic, minced
2 Tbs. apple cider vinegar
1 Tbs. molasses
1 Tbs. brown sugar
1 Tbs. dry mustard powder
1 tsp. ground cayenne pepper
1/2 cup ketchup
1/2 cup water

Steps:

  • PORK CHOPS: Combine all ingredients except chops in a shallow plate. Brush chops with olive oil and dredge them in seasonings mixture, gently pressing it onto meat. Transfer chops to a platter and cover and refrigerate for 2 hours. Preheat grill to high heat. Place chops on the grill and cook 5-6 minutes per side or according to desired doneness, brushing with BBQ sauce often. Remove chops to a clean platter and loosely tent with foil to rest.
  • BBQ SAUCE: Saute onion and garlic in oil in a saucepan over medium heat. When it's soft add remaining ingredients and simmer for 20 minutes.

Tips:

  • Choose the right cut of pork: A pork loin roast is a lean and tender cut that is perfect for barbecuing. Look for a pork loin that is about 3 to 4 pounds in weight.
  • Prepare the pork loin: Trim any excess fat from the pork loin and score the surface of the meat with a sharp knife. This will help the marinade to penetrate the meat and will also help to prevent the pork from drying out.
  • Make a flavorful marinade: There are many different recipes for barbecue marinade, but some common ingredients include brown sugar, honey, garlic, onion, and spices. Experiment with different recipes to find one that you like.
  • Marinate the pork loin: Place the pork loin in a large bowl or resealable plastic bag and pour the marinade over the meat. Cover the bowl or bag and refrigerate for at least 8 hours, or overnight.
  • Preheat your grill: When you are ready to cook the pork loin, preheat your grill to medium heat.
  • Grill the pork loin: Place the pork loin on the grill and cook for about 15 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature of the meat reaches 145 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Let the pork loin rest: Once the pork loin is cooked, remove it from the grill and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Conclusion:

Barbecued pork loin is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for any occasion. By following these tips, you can make sure that your pork loin turns out perfect every time. So fire up your grill and get cooking!
