GRILLED SALMON WITH BBQ SAUCE

Grilled Salmon with BBQ Sauce image

Grilled Salmon with BBQ Sauce is a quick and healthy dinner recipe.

Provided by Anne Clark

Categories     Main Course

Time 30m

Number Of Ingredients 7

4 8 ounces each Salmon Filets (with skin on)
2/3 cup Sweet Baby Ray's with Brown Sugar BBQ Sauce
1 Tablespoon Lime Juice
1 Tablespoon Lemon Juice
1/3 teaspoon Garlic Powder
1/3 teaspoon Onion Powder
1 teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce

Steps:

  • Mix all the ingredients listed above (except salmon) in a medium-sized bowl.
  • Preheat your grill to medium heat.
  • Use a brush to apply a thick coating of the bbq sauce to each salmon filet. Note: Be sure to check your salmon if you use a brush with bristles. Sometimes the bristles come out and you end up with bristles in your meal. I hate it when I find bristles in my food! Use a silicone basting brush as opposed to one with bristles to avoid this problem.
  • Place a sheet of aluminum foil over the grill grate then add the filets to the grill. Close the grill cover.
  • Cook salmon on your grill at medium heat for approximately 12 to 15 minutes. For food safety purposes, make sure you grill the salmon to an internal temperature of 145 F.
  • Remove the filets when they flake easily with a fork.

Tips:

  • Choose the right fish: For grilling, firm-fleshed fish like salmon, tuna, and swordfish hold up best. Avoid delicate fish like tilapia and flounder, which can easily fall apart.
  • Use a flavorful marinade: Marinating the fish before grilling infuses it with flavor and helps keep it moist. Use a marinade made with olive oil, lemon juice, herbs, and spices.
  • Preheat your grill: Preheat your grill to medium-high heat before cooking the fish. This will help prevent the fish from sticking to the grill grates.
  • Oil the grill grates: Brush the grill grates with oil before cooking the fish. This will also help prevent the fish from sticking.
  • Cook the fish over direct heat: Grill the fish over direct heat for 4-6 minutes per side, or until cooked through. The fish is cooked through when it flakes easily with a fork.
  • Baste the fish with sauce: While the fish is grilling, baste it with a flavorful sauce. This will help keep the fish moist and add extra flavor.
  • Let the fish rest before serving: After grilling, let the fish rest for a few minutes before serving. This will allow the juices to redistribute throughout the fish, resulting in a more flavorful and tender dish.

Conclusion:

Grilling fish is a great way to enjoy a healthy and delicious meal. By following these tips, you can grill fish that is perfectly cooked, flavorful, and moist. Serve grilled fish with your favorite sides, such as roasted vegetables, grilled potatoes, or a fresh salad.
