Number Of Ingredients 12

1 1/2 cups Sugar
2 pieces Eggs, lightly beaten
1 cup Sour Cream
1/2 cup Butter, softened
1 1/2 cups Bananas, very ripe
2 teaspoons Vanilla
2 cups Flour
1 teaspoon Baking Soda
1 teaspoon Salt
1/2 cup Walnuts, chopped (Optional)
1 can Cream Cheese Frosting, canned
1/2 cup Walnuts, finely chopped (Optional)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350-degrees.
  • Prepare jelly roll pan with non-stick spray.
  • In a separate bowl, combine Flour, Baking Soda, and Salt. Set aside.
  • Mix Sugar, Eggs, Sour Cream and Butter in mixing bowl on low speed for 1 minute, occasionally scraping bowl.
  • Mix in broken Bananas and Vanilla on low speed about 1 minute.
  • Add flour mixture a spoonful at a time, mixing in between.
  • Stir in 1/2 cup chopped Walnuts (optional).
  • Spread cake batter in jelly roll pan.
  • Bake 20-25 minutes at 350-degrees or until lightly browned.
  • Let cool.
  • Frost with canned Cream Cheese Frosting (or simple powdered sugar glaze).

Tips:

  • Choose ripe bananas: The riper the bananas, the sweeter and more flavorful your bars will be.
  • Use full-fat sour cream: This will give your bars a richer, more decadent flavor.
  • Don't overmix the batter: Overmixing can make your bars tough. Just mix until the ingredients are combined.
  • Bake the bars until they are just set: Overbaking will make them dry.
  • Let the bars cool completely before cutting them: This will help them hold their shape.

Conclusion:

These banana sour cream bars are a delicious and easy-to-make treat. They are perfect for a quick snack or dessert. With their sweet banana flavor and creamy sour cream filling, they are sure to be a hit with everyone who tries them.
